Altered Book

Yesterday I started my first ever altered book. I got a vintage book from the 1930's at my local thrift store and brought it home. WHAT A LONG PROCESS TO EVEN START THE PROJECT! I wanted the book to have front pages I could decorate and use as a journal and in the back to have a deep hole so I could put some treasures in...Kindda like this from Vintage Flair but oviously able to move inside the hole!
Glueing the pages is such a process!!! OH MY GOSH! I seriously dont even want to go back to the project today...Ive had it with books...haha

So I glued a huge section of the last pages and cut out a deep hole. The front pages I glued about 5 pages together (a couple so I could have "pages" to journal on and alter) . Then I painted each page. I used a darker brown, went over it with a cloth, then an antique white, went over it with a cloth and then a light pink. It turned out really good and Im happy with the colors. I went over it with a cloth to make sure you could still see words from the pages.

Now today I have to decorate it...

Just wanted to let everyone know what I was up with!!!!
