Welcome To My Blog!

Being my first blog I wanted to talk a little about myself and what this blog is going to be about.
My name is Priscila, I'm 23 and have 2 sons (3 years old and 7 months). I’ve been married for almost 4 years (in Sep.). When I had my younger son I decided that I was going to do a special nursery for him. My first son got Winnie the Pooh because we figured if I ever had another child and it happened to be a girl we could use it for her!
Well, little Carter was born and I was so sick of Pooh that I decided to put everything thing I had up on Ebay to sell and do a nursery makeover!
I looked and looked and looked and everything looked soooooooooooooooooo typical. Cars, plains...bla bla bla!!! Until I saw the cutest vintage inspired fabric by Michael Miller!

I fell in LOVE and that’s when Carter's vintage cowboy room was 'born' and my love for all things vintage grew!

I think what really made me fall in love with it besides being adorable was that I could imaged all the little kids in the 50's playing Indians and cowboys. Playing outside with there cowboy hats on and chaps and spurs. Just thinking about how life should be and using your imagination instead of sitting in front of the TV, computer, or video game screen!!! Life was a lot simpler and I want my children to grow up using there imagination!!!

Here are some pictures of the room so far! I always say I’m done but sometimes Ill gather something here and there! Some of the pictures have links so you can purchase also (just click).

Enjoy!!

This was the same furniture I used with my first son. I really like the shape of them. I just changed out the knobs and bought a pack on ebay and painted them to match the room. You can also decoupade them. It was a fun. Check out ebay for a lot of knobs, a craft store or even somewhere like Home Depot.

I got his little 'suitcase' at Michaels on sale for about $5 and put his vintage cowboy lamp on top. The lamp no longer had his lampshade so I bought a cheap white one at Target and just added some bandana fabric and glued some rope on the bottom.

This wagon wheel looks perfect and adds some hight on the shelf. Paired along with a sweet picture of Carter when he was 2 weeks old and some old spurs. The horse I got on ebay also and is very sweet. It rocks when you turn his little dial.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, this lamp! Its perfect! I really wanted kind of a "dress up" now lets go play cowboy feel to this room. It's the perfect touch to his room. I just love opening the door and besides my sweet little boy seeing this lamp. Makes me smile!

Better front view

This is his custom crib bedding I got. It's made of Michael Millers "Lil' Cowpoke" fabric!

The mobile I found on ebay. It's vintage but not cowboy theme. It was little boys and girls ridding on horses. I just added cowboy hats that I picked up at the craft store and added red bandanas around the neck.

The vintage mobile.

Little Buckaroo sign: $15.95
I got mine on ebay so check both places (click on the link)

Vintage cowboy clock: $70.00

Tips on redoing a room:

* Always look on ebay. Even if there is something at the store you love....look on ebay and see if they offer it for cheap.

* Got to flea markets, thrift shops and garage sales. If you are doing a vintage room in your home...you can always find treasures for cheap. People give and throw away perfectly good things. Even if you have to repaint and fix it alittle...it makes it so much more special!
